The EPC Fellas can help you.
Buildings are the single biggest source of carbon dioxide emissions in the UK. Homes contribute about one third of the UK’s total CO2 emissions. The European and UK
Governments have set challenging targets for reductions in emissions and have identified improvements to the energy performance of homes as a key element of the strategy.
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is intended to provide a record of an assessment of the energy performance of a building and a guide to how it can be
improved.
New legislation (MEES) means that all rental properties need to have a minimum of an E 39 rating or the property cannot be let. If you have a property that falls below the minimum rating, we can help by advising on exactly which low cost improvements need to be made to increase the rating sufficiently. Call us for more information.
The EPC can only be produced by an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). Accreditation with one of a number of Accreditation
Schemes ensures that the DEA is competent, professional and properly insured. The Assessor collects the data, creates the report and then lodges it with the Central Register of Domestic EPCs
(currently operated on behalf of the Government by Landmark Information Systems) where it becomes a public document.
You can check with the EPC Register and search your address to see if an EPC already exists. The EPC lasts for 10 years and you will need a new one if yours is out of date.
